DIY Beauty Fridays: Tricks Even The Celebs Use

I am a sucker for celebrity trends.

Really, I am.  As soon as I hear that a celebrity loves a specific cosmetic, hair product or fashion trend, I am ALL over it.  (I'm hoping this doesn't make me sound like a lemming....ha.)  That's what makes today's DIY so exciting.  Below are some awesome tips used by our favorite celebrities:

Jessica Alba's Peppermint Tea Toner

1 tea bag pure peppermint tea
1 cup hot water

Steep tea bag in hot water as per directions.  (Personally, I use David's Tea Peppermint as I love the smell.)  Once done, add steeped tea to a small spray bottle.  Place in fridge until cool.  Replace your normal toner with the cooled peppermint tea toner.  (Spray your face morning and night.)

Why this works? Not only will your skin tingle from the refreshing peppermint, but it's a natural way to help prevent acne.

Snooki's Baking Soda Scrub

1 tsp baking soda
1 TBSP facial cleanser

Mix together baking soda and cleanser in the palm of your hand and apply to face.  Cleanse face thoroughly using little circular motions and rinse off with warm water.  Tone and moisturize skin immediately.

Why this works?  Baking soda exfoliates the skin without causing irritation.  According to my research, baking soda is also a great non-abrasive way to prevent acne.  You gotta love that it doesn't contain harsh chemicals OR over-the-top-expensive packaging!

Clarie Danes' Cucumber Foot Soak

2 cucumbers
2 TBSP lemon juice
2 TBSP olive oil

Place all ingredients in a blender and mix (well) until the cucumber has been blended to a soup-like consistency.  Put the mixture in a bowl and microwave until lukewarm.  Place half the mixture in a large Ziploc baggie and the other half in a second baggie.  Place feet into each baggie, rubbing the cucumber mask all over them.  Let soak 5-10 minutes then rinse with warm water.

Why this works?  The cucumber is extremely refreshing and revitalizing for tired toes and feet while the lemon juice exfoliates dead skin.  Now, everyone knows what the olive oil does but after keeping it on this long, your feet will be oh-so soft and moisturized.

Enjoy these tips ladies and happy pampering!
