Birchbox Canada December 2015

Happy Holidays from Birchbox!  I have to say, when I opened the box today I was beyond thrilled with the gorgeous Christmasy box that contained my goodies.

I received some great products this month and have to say that Birchbox will NOT be cancelled because of it.  However, one of my beauty subscription boxes was not so lucky.  More on this in another post.

Inside, I received (from left to right) an N4 Reconstructing Hair Masque, Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm, Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave-In Conditioner, N4 Blow Dry Lotion, Naobay Oxygenating Moisturizing Cream and a Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Duo.

Honestly, though, check out the gorgeous color of this duo.  I remember seeing this color and HOPING that I would get this one and I did.  YAY for me.

I am going to leave this post with a picture of my little munchkin with Santa because you haven't seen a picture of him in a long time.  He's now 6.5 months and growing/eating up a storm.

Do any of you receive Birchbox?  What did you get this month?

Ipsy, Birchbox, Topbox, Oh My - November 2015

Sigh, I am posting these altogether as I only JUST received my Ipsy package a few days ago.  I don't quite understand why it's so late but it ALWAYS seems to come the following month.  Aside from that, I am really excited to show you all my goodies.

First up is Birchbox and TopBox.  Birchbox (left side) from left to right, I received Skyn Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, the Balm Frat Boy Shadow/Blush single, LOC One and Done Shadow Stick, Embryolisse Nourishing Moisturizer and Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo.  From TopBox, left to right, I received The Face Shop Character Mask (yes, another one), Nova Scotia Fisherman Extreme Lip Care in Sea Salt and Caramel, Benefit Air Patrol Primer and 2 SeaRx Micro-Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub.

I am really liking the Birchbox BUT have decided to cancel TopBox for January.  I really feel like they don't quite understand my desire for beauty products (ahem, makeup) and I always seem to get masks from them.  Boring.

My Ipsy bag was fairly good, for the first time in a few months.  I received, from left to right, Jersey Shore Spa Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm (redeemed points), Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner (redeemed points), Beaute Basics Navy Gel Eyeliner, Crown Brush Pointed Crease Brush, Avance Mattifying Emulsion Primer, Demeter Orchid Collection Twilight Roll On Perfume Oil and a Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara.

I am in LOVE with the navy gel eyeliner!!

What did you guys receive?  Anything exciting?

Birchbox Canada October 2015 Review

The Birchbox this month was focused on "Positive Force".  Birchbox explained that they know "firsthand the power of beauty to change your mood, to inspire confidence and to plain ol' make you happy." So the products this month were designed to make us look and feel good.

And, I am rather happy with them!

Inside, I received a Rusk Elixir Mist, Harvey Prince Hello Body Butter, Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Exfoliant, Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter Luminizer Gel and W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara.

Birchbox Canada September 2015 - Review

I'm currently on a quest to find the best beauty subscription box in Canada.  I'll make that clear again and say I want a BEAUTY BOX because to me, a beauty box should be filled with a lot of cosmetics.  I'm finding that so many boxes have moisturizers and cleansers as "fillers".

I get that some people enjoy those products but I am, unfortunately, not one of them.  Give me lip glosses, eye shadows and bronzers any day!

September was my first month receiving Birchbox.  Look how pretty the box is!!!

This month, the box's theme was about the subscribers.  According to the greeting, the box is inspired by all the subscriber's favorite things.

My box was filled with quite a few goodies, but only one item was makeup.  From left to right, i received 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream, Raw Spirit Wild Fire Fragrance tester, Davines OI sample of Shampoo and Conditioner, Tocca Nourishing Body Scrub, Davines OI All-In-One Milk Treatment and a Cynthia Rowley Liquid Liner in Cobalt.

The color is absolutely stunning and I can't WAIT to wear it.  I will say that the lasting power of this liner is fantastic.  I placed it on my hand and it was still visible after two showers, a day later.  Awesome stuff.

The box, for a first glimpse, was great.  A few too many body products but the liner definitely made up for it.  I am eager to see what this box looks like next month.

Finally, My First Luxe Box Arrived!

It seems like a YEAR ago that I signed up with Loose Button to receive their monthly Luxe Box.  (For those that aren't aware what Loose Button is, it's a company that sends you different miniature samples to try for a very minimal fee.  Loose Button is for us Canadian gals, while Birch Box, a similar company, is for our American friends.)

I signed up almost two months ago and, due to my poor timing, I had to wait until now to receive my first package.  And let me tell you, it was soooooo worth the wait.

My Luxe Box contained (from top left) Sheyna Earrings (which was a very special additional freebie), City Lips by City Cosmetics (lip plumping serum), Proclaim Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion, Laura Mercier Perfecting Water and Calvin Klein's Forbidden Euphoria Fragrance.

I was most excited by the additional earrings since I've tried most of these other products before.  However, it's always lovely to get small sizes for travelling instead of trying to find little plastic bottles to fill up yourself.  Check out these earrings though.  So cute right?

They are super dainty and feminine.  Perfect earrings that are totally work appropriate.

What did you get in your Luxe Boxe?  Anything different than me?

A Birchbox For Canadian Gals

One of my favorite bloggers Tara at Haute Lunch opened my eyes to something called a Birchbox.  As soon as I read the words "$10 USD" and "free products shipped to your door" I started to drool.  Seriously.  So, I opened a new internet window and was off looking into the phenomenal Birchbox company.  (For those that aren't too familiar, Birchbox is an American company that works with many upscale and well-known cosmetics/skin care companies and, for a monthly fee, ships a box every month to your door step.)

HOWEVER...

Birchbox is only for American residents.  After learning this I was extremely depressed.  (Ask Allan....he kept asking me why I was so mopy.)  I even emailed the company and asked if they could make a teeny-weeny exception for me to which they replied with a big no.  For weeks I was a sad girl.....

And then, I found it.  The Canadian gal's Birchbox.  It's called Luxe Box by Loose Button.  For almost the exact same price as the Birchbox is, you can have similar products and brands delivered directly to your Canadian address.  I just signed up for my first one and it will be shipping out July 11th....I can't wait!!!

Check it out ladies!  How can you say no to beauty products arriving directly to your house?  Ummmm, you can't....
