Hey Ladies!! I have to apologize for the lack of posts because I'm actually on holidays at the moment. I am, unfortunately, not vacationing anywhere glamorous, as Allan and I decided to have a stay-at-home holiday (tons of home repairs to do) but we're having such a fantastic time anyway. Hence the sporadic posts.....Anyway, on to more important things....
My friend (and co-worker) recommended the Victoria's Secret Beach Sexy Bronzers and Self-Tanners to me during one of our in-depth convos regarding our oh-so pastey skin color. (Yes, she is a pale girl like me). We were ranting and raving about how gross smelling the majority of the self-tanners are on the market these days and wondering why companies couldn't design better smelling products. After we got the negative comments out of the way, I recommended the Sephora Spray Tanner and she suggested I try out the Victoria's Secret line. I immediately placed an online-order....
I trust Rheanna's recommendations quite a bit so when I placed the order, I got two of the items I knew I'd like. From left to right: 2 of the Tan Enhance Shimmer Lotion With Tint, Keep Glowing Tan Extend Body Moisturizer, and 2 Custom Tan Adjustable Self-Tan Lotion With Shimmer.
The Tan Extend Moisturizer is perhaps the easiest one to decipher. Use after your tan has appeared to prevent peeling and prolong the life of your golden glow. The Custom Adjustable Self-Tan is not something I've used yet (since I just received the items two days ago) but can not WAIT to try it out. Rheanna says this one is neat since it doesn't smell like a self-tan (BONUS) and you can actually customize the color you want (lighter or deeper) depending on what setting you've placed the dial at.
I saved the best for last because this is my absolute favorite: the Tan Enhance Shimmer Lotion. I LOVE products like this because you can give yourself a great looking tan and then wash it off in the shower the next day. Plus, since the lotion is colored, you never have to worry about streaks and it always looks natural. (This last comment is a bonus for anyone who's quite fair. The last thing you want is a orange glow....)
And here it is, all rubbed in on my arm. Pretty good color hey? I will also say that VS has been selling out of the Tan Enhancer so if you can get your hands on a bottle, I highly recommend spending the $12 (yes, that's all it costs) and nabbing it.
What are your thoughts? Have you tried these products out before?
XO

OOTD (Yesterday) and My Tanned Limbs
Hi guys!!! Thanks to Angela who urged me to get off my derriere and take some pics of my recent Sephora glow. I know this picture doesn't really show my tan (at all) however, the rest of me is brown, I swear. Since yesterday was my scheduled haircut day, I didn't style my hair before work. Instead, I took one of my many headbands and threw my hair back. Came out rather well, I think.
It was fairly overcast yesterday in Vancouver and instead of wearing my usual office attire of greys and blacks, I wanted to incorporate something bright and cheerful. You can also see my left foot (your right) that my skin is rather pale. Yes, that's my normal skin tone which means that the rest of me is actually really tanned. I sprayed a thin layer of the Sephora Tinted Self-Tanning Body Mist that I blogged about HERE and, ladies, it really does work.

Here's a picture of the color taken in natural light. Again, you can see how pale my feet are compared to my legs. Did I not spray my feet on purpose you ask? Umm, no, I actually completely forgot to spray them BUT it really gives a great comparison.
Here's a slight blurry photo of my arm. Again, for a paste-y girl like me, I am really happy with this base tan. And to think, I've only used this product three times.
So, you ladies got to see my OOTD and my new-ish bronze limbs. How's that for a Wednesday treat!!!

The Self-Tanner Search
I am a very pastey pale girl.
This means that I don't tan when in the sun AND, if I do ever get some color on my own, I am usually red as a lobster. Every year I am faced with this dilemna and every year I am on the hunt for the perfect self-tanner to give me the golden glow I can never achieve myself.
I went shopping with a girlfriend on Friday and our sole purpose was to find the best bottled self-tanner that's not too expensive. (Actually, that's not true. Our sole purpose was to go to the gym but we decided to shop instead of working out.....a much better option I think.) We immediately went to Sephora and looked at everything from Clinique's Self Sun Body Airbrush Spray to Too Faced Tanning Bed in a Tube and even, my personal fave, Dior's Self-Tanner Shimmering Glow but all were way out of the budget I'd allotted.
This is a great product because it's a spray. This makes a world of difference as you can hold the container at every angle and spray till your heart's content. A huge bonus is that it doesn't streak! You don't even need to rub the product into your skin because it comes out more like a dry oil. However, I was rubbing it into my skin, just in case. I will also say that after about three hours, I looked like I had been at the beach all day and really did have a nice all-over glow. THE BEST part of this product, though, is that it doesn't have a smell. Do you realize how gross some self-tanners can be? This one has no foul scent and actually does the trick, without turning me orange. I'd say it is definitely worth the $17.
In the next couple weeks, I'm also going to be trying the Victoria's Secret products as I've heard so much about them and can't wait to do a comparison.

I almost left Sephora, feeling very defeated, until I saw a little flashy golden tube out of the corner of my eye. I picked it up, read the label (Sephora Collection Tinted Self-Tanning Body Mist) and noticed that it was only $17. SCORE!!! I ran home and tried it immediately.
