Best Beauty Products Under $5

Beauty Under $5

I'm a sucker for a good deal.  Whether it be shoes, purses or my favorite lipstick, I love knowing that I paid next to nothing for something I absolutely adore.

Here are some of my favorite beauty products which cost less than $5!

BH Cosmetics 6 Color Concealer and Corrector Palette - It's amazing because it's compact, easy to use and works really well.  Plus the price is a HUGE bonus.

Forever21 Mango Face Mask - I love one-use masks!  I tend to get bored easily and love to try a new one each time.  This is a great one because it smells fabulous and actually makes your skin feel super smooth.

NYX Powder Blush - Sigh, I love NYX.  All their products are amazing but this type of blush is the best.  It goes on so well and lasts all day.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - I am typically a loose powder gal but love this powder when I travel.  One of these bad boys can last me a couple of months and the powder also absorbs any oil on your skin which is GREAT when traveling to a hot climate.

ELF Studio Moisturizing Lipstick - You can never go wrong with an ELF product but their studio line is definitely the best.  Plus these lipsticks are about $3.

Noxzema Classic Cream - I recently went back to using this product and still love it.  It makes my skin tingle and really cleans out all my pores.

Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish - This brand has a great selection of colors and dries really well.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder - I change bronzers like I change my hair color.  I have used so many inexpensive (and expensive) brands but always seem to come back to this one.  Easy to use and the color blends really well.

These are a few of my top items.  What are your favorite, inexpensive, must-haves?

Cheap Tricks: Beauty On A Dime

I am ALWAYS looking for inexpensive ways to look amazing.  Let's be honest though ladies, aren't we all?  I think I can speak for everyone when I say that finding a dual purpose product that costs next to nothing is a dream come true.  So, here are some cheap beauty tricks that keep you looking amazing without having to spend a heap of dough....

Tap lip gloss under your brows
Everyone has a shimmery pink gloss in their makeup case so grab it and apply under your brows.  This is a great tip because it highlights, opens your eyes and blends (without flaking) really well.

Comb bronzer through your lashes
There is something so eye-catching about a shimmery bronzer and when applied to your lashes it seems to catch the light perfectly.  This tip is great for a night out!  (Apply with a brow comb or small crease brush).

Get an instant glow
Mix a small amount of metallic eyeshadow with your moisturizer for an instant brighter looking complexion.  I use a soft gold shimmery eyeshadow and it always looks fabulous!

Refresh your lip color
If you're like me and you have tons of half used tubes of lipstick in your makeup bag, cut them up and create your own shades!  Cut off the ends, pop them in the microwave, melt them down and pour into little lipgloss pots.  You'll have your very own custom colors without having to buy anymore!!

Shiny, non-greasy, limbs
There is something super sexy about shiny (non-greasy) limbs in the summertime.  Add a drop of baby oil to your favorite body lotion and get moisturizing.  Your limbs will have a great shine without being too slick.

Shave with conditioner
Running out of shave cream always happens to me and instead of grabbing bar soap, turn to your conditioner bottle.  It softens the hair and makes shaving so much easier.  Plus, it smells so pretty! (**ensure you don't apply too much though as it can make it more difficult for the razor to get to the hair.)

Create your own scented body lotion
Don't throw out your almost empty perfume bottles.  Instead pour your fave into a container of unscented lotion.  (**The best thing about a scented body lotion is that it stays on your skin for longer so you won't have to re-apply the scent as often.)

Have any of you ladies tried these before?  If not, I'd love to hear some of your favorite cheap beauty tips...

The Joys of Scrub

Who, honestly, dislikes a good scrub? There is nothing more rewarding than slapping on an intense, gritty scrub and, after ten minutes and some washing, revealing a new, glowing you.

Last night, after work, I ran to London Drugs to pick up an anniversary card. Since I was already shopping, I thought it a good idea to beeline for the cosmetics section. (For research, of course....ha.) Now, when it comes to skincare, I'm most definitely a brand snob, so I was surprised when the St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control caught my eye. I bought the sucker, since it was only $4.99, and went directly home to try it out.

I put this on immediately after cleansing my face and was very impressed with the smell. (Good smell, by the way; it lives up to its apricot name.) I let it sit on my skin for about ten minutes and once I washed it off, I was impressed immensely. My skin felt tighter, looked refreshed and my pores appeared to be smaller. I will definitely use this again, without a doubt, and am actually eager to try the entire St. Ives facial product line.

Try it out guys!!! For under $5, you're getting a natural scrub, with no parabens and no animal testing. Oh, and you can get it at a drugstore. Doesn't get much better than that...
