Creating Fabulous Eyes with Younique

I was first turned on to Younique by a friend of mine who had recently begun selling the line.

I'd heard a lot about the mascara and knew I wanted something that created more volume, length and texture as my current mascaras seemed to be lacking.  I purchased the mascara and was absolutely amazed at how great the product really is.  It not only lengthens, extends and makes your lashes appear more voluminous, but it creates a whole different dimension to your lashes.

I was hooked.  Selling the line only seemed like the next natural step.

And, I've been doing just that.

Younique is a natural line, one that does not use parabens or fillers, and all the products being sold are just really good.  It's one of those things that once you try, you just have to keep trying new products from the line because they just work, really well.

There's a reason the line sells over 15,000 mascaras a day!!
If you are looking for some new products or want to try a line that's ACTUALLY good for your skin, check out my site at https://www.youniqueproducts.com/ChristinaMuir

WNW's New Colors and Mini Haul

So, Allan and I took an impromptu trek across the border last night to pick up something oh-so very special.  (I'll share with you later...)  After we'd picked up a couple packages, we headed to Rite-Aid.  (I should begin by saying that I rent a mailbox in Blaine, WA which is a super small border town, thus making Rite-Aid the most exciting store there.....ha).

I actually like Rite-Aid quite a bit since they always have great deals on cosmetics.  And, it was the same today.  Deals galore!!

So, I got (from left to right) Freeman Facial Enzyme Pineapple Mask, Conair Thermal Ionic Self-Grip Rollers, L'oreal Paris Excellence Creme Hair Color in 5RB (my absolute favorite), WNW Color Icon Trio in I'm Feeling Retro, WNW Color Icon Trio in We're Blasting Off, WNW Color Icon Trio in Fly Me To The Moon and WMW Speed Gloss Lip Shine in Untamed.  (All the Wet N Wild items are from their new color line!!)

Aren't these colors gorgeous?  Even though the pretty bright blue eyeshadow broke on the way home, I'm still super stoked to wear it.

Swatches of I'm Feeling Retro - (from left to right) eyelid color, crease and eyebrow.

Swatches of We're Blasting Off - (from left to right) eyelid color, crease and eyebrow.

Swatches of Fly Me To The Moon - (from left to right) eyelid color, crease and eyebrow

And, drum roll please, the most exciting reason for us going to the states was to pick up our Save-The Date Cards.  Check them out...

Sigh, they are absolutely perfect.  I thought they were adorable when we saw them on-line BUT after seeing them in person I realize how awesome they really are.

Have any of you tried any of the new WNW colors?  What are your thoughts?

My First Sleek MakeUP Haul

I read so many fabulous beauty blogs and a common trend among them all is Sleek MakeUP.  I'll be honest, until I got into blogging and reading blogs, I'd never heard of this UK cosmetic brand before.  After seeing the colors available and hearing so many positive things about the line, I made my first Sleek online purchase.

I must say, their prices are fantastic and they have such a wide range of color palettes.  Needless to say, I couldn't make up my mind on colors and bought WAY too many eye shadows.  Here's what I got: Storm i-Divine Palette, Monaco i-Divine Palette, Bad Girl i-Divine Palette and the Molten Metal Metallic Eye Shadow Duo.  Whew, I know right?  So many eye colors....

The Storm Palette seems to be exceptionally popular as it's the one I always read about on everyone's blog.  I liked this palette (like everyone else) because it's filled with more neutrals: bronze, grey, brown, burgundy and black.  All are colors I love to wear on my eyes AND, the best part is, they are so pigmented.  Seriously, for a $10 palette, you would never expect to get this quality.  I love it.

The Monaco Palette is filled with exceptionally bright colors and reminds me of being on an island.  (Hence the name I guess...ha).  I haven't worn most of these colors before but can not wait to dabble in and see if I can pull off magenta eyelids.  Though the Storm Palette didn't have a "name sheet", this one did.  The colors (left to right; top then bottom) are Bamboo, Aquamarine, Midnight Garden, Sunset, Washed Ashore, Magenta Madness, Summer Breeze, Sand Walker, Kiwi Zest, Lotus Flower, Humming Bird and Moors Treasure.

The Bad Girl Palette is my absolute favorite!!  It contains beautiful deep blues, purples, silvers, and blacks that create the perfect "bad girl" smoky eye.  The palette contains (left to right; top then bottom) Innocence, Gullible, Blade, Gun Metal, Underground, Noir, Intoxicated, Envy, Obnoxious, Abyss, Twilight and Rebel.  Eek...I can't wait to put this palette to good use.

Lastly, the Molten Metal Cream Eye Shadow Duo.  As you all know, I adore metallic eye shadows and I am so glad I bought them.  These colors are super creamy, extremely pigmented and glide on like butter.  Definitely worth the $10.50

I am super happy to say that this will not be my last online purchase from Sleek MakeUP because I'm blown away by their quality and prices.  However, next time, I'd like to buy some other items aside from eye shadows.

Have any of you tried Sleek before?  What are your thoughts?

My Recent Avon/Mark Haul

I came to a realization today. This epiphany occurred as I was sifting through my recent Avon/Mark purchase, deciding which products to use on my face, and envisioned writing an Avon haul post. Yes, my very first one!!! I enjoy reading all your haul posts so much and thought I'd join the bandwagon and write one myself.....ha. As most of you know already, I'm a huge Mark fan. Mark (Avon's trendy sister) has fantastic colors, great prices, and is always coming up with something new and different. (As you'll definitely see from my recent order.) This time around I got Mark Get a Tint (tinted moisturizer), Mark Glossblossom (color changing lipgloss), Mark Cheekblossom (color changing blush), Mark It Kit (eye/lip/cheek palette), Avon Tri-Shadow in OnyxLuster, Avon Tri-Lip Gloss in Onyx Luster and Avon's Super Magnify Mascara. Avon Tri-Shadow and Tri-Lip Gloss - I fell in love with both Onyx Luster products as soon as I saw them. Though the colors look quite a bit darker in the lip gloss, the colors in both products are actually the exact same tones. Both have a deep purple, a dark silvery grey and a pale pink. These two products were the reason I placed the order in the first place. Mark Glossblossom and Mark Cheekblossom are the only color changing beauty products that cost under $10 CAN. Seriously, can you believe that? Can't wait to write a review on these two... Mark Get a Tint - Summer is the perfect time for wearing tinted moisturizer so I thought I'd beat the rush and purchase mine early. This one is great because it matches my skin (YAY) and has an SPF of 15. Perfect for those days when you're running around, not wanting to wear anything heavy and still needing some sun protection. (By the way, the moisturizer blends in smooth and feels nice and light!) Mark It Kit - Here I am, saving the best for last. As per Mark's website, this palette is described as containing "Spring's hottest, straight-off-the-runway shades". It has three eye shadows and a bronzer on the first side (L to R: White Hot, Violet Femme, Vampette and Bronzini). While the flip-side of the palette (yes, I said flip-side and you'll see what I mean in a second) has three color creams (L to R: Mauving On, Goldirocks, Cocoa Rush) and three lip glosses (L to R: Retro, Lotus Pop, Pretty Delish). The color creams are great because you can wear them on your lips, eyes, or even as a nice cheek color. Here's the kicker. Once opened, you access both sides of the palette by flipping the inner compact over with your finger. In all my shopping, I've never seen a palette this unique and I absolutely love it! Reviews will, of course, be following but just wanted to give you a quick little taste. What do you think? Have you used any of these items before? XO

There's No Brand Like NARS....

I'm in love.

I'm in love with a brand new (to me) product line so much that I'm contemplating marriage to an innanimate object.....Sorry Allan.

I have no idea why it's takin' me eons to even glance at this line but I'm glad I moved away from my comfort zone. A little while ago I purchased four products and loved the flat black packaging so much that I left them, unopened, on my vanity table. I took them out of the little boxes sometimes, stared at the pretty colors, and, once done, put them back into the boxes for safe keeping.

About a week ago, the time came for me to try out the purple eye shadow (NARS Single Eye Shadow in Strada) as I was wearing a new outfit and wanted my eyes to pop. I opened the box and tried the eye shadow on. Not only is the color absolutely bright and amazing, but it actually stays on the eye. Sometimes, with eye shadow, if you don't wear a lid primer, the shadow sticks to your eye creases and starts to appear worn but this shadow doesn't so that. It looks like you just applied it evern if you've had it on for hours.

After applying the shadow, I thought to myself, "why not open the blush too???" So, I did. Actually, I have been wanting to try this blush since I saw it in a fashion magazine a few months ago. Anyway, opened it up and the blush is a nice rosy peachy pink color with huge pieces of glitter in it. (NARS Blush Super Orgasm.) The glitter adds that subtle shimmering goodness that every blush and bronzer should have. Either way, the color is perfect on your cheeks alone if worn with dark eyes or even on top of bronzer for that sun-kissed hue.

I know I said four products but I'll get to the other two later. (They obviously weren't worn with this outfit....) Check this product line out ladies...you won't be angry you did.

UPDATE: Still plugging along with the eyelash serum. I am applying it every night, as recommended, but still not seeing anything. Of course, I am anxiously waiting for a change which could be why nothing's happening. Either way, here's my funny looking before picture....
