OPI Fall 2011 Collection: Touring America

Corals and navy and grey, OH MY! Along with the exciting news that OPI has added three new colors to their Shatter Line (Blue, Navy and Turquoise, just to fill you in), they’ve also launched their fall collection entitled “Touring America” which includes 12 new shades inspired and named after American cities and the cultural heritage that distinguishes them. Sooooo excited to try them all out.

According to OPI’s Executive VP & Artisitic Director, Suzi-Weiss-Fischmann, a “recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection. This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson."

I’ll be honest, though I’ve travelled to a lot of cities in America, there are a few places in this collection that I haven’t experienced and it’s making me want to purchase the colors even more. Check out these pics…

From left to right: Roadhouse Blues, I Brake For Manicures, Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window and Honk If You Love OPI

From left to right: My Address is "Hollywood", Color to Dine For, Are We There Yet? and I Eat Mainley Lobsters

From left to right: A-Taupe the Space Needle, Suzi Takes the Wheel, Get in the Expresso Lane and French Quarter for Your Thoughts

As you all know, I am a huge sucker for neutrals, greys and navy polishes, so this collection is right up my ally. Can’t wait to start building my own “Touring America” collection at home.

For more information, check out the OPI website and click on Touring America.

Sephora by OPI Urban Ballerina Collection

Is it the colors of this new launch by OPI that got me OR could it be the fantastic abstract ballerina sketch on the box??? Either way, in lust I am with this amazing new nail polish collection. Not only does this cute set have a fantastic nude and the perfect pale pink but it also gives you a rocker edge with the dark gray and metallic purple. These colors make the name, Urban Ballerina Collection, completely fitting.

The Sephora by OPI Urban Ballerina Collection includes four 0.125oz bottles of Leotard-Optional, The Way Tutu His Heart, Who's Spinning Tonight? and Break a Leg-Warmer! The set is a limited edition and definitely worth it's $18 (USD) price tag.

The rest of the Urban Collection includes:

Break a Leg-Warmer! - an opaque charcoal gray
Leotard-Optional - an opaque dark beige
Let's Plie - an opaque metallic light beige

Shinny Dancer - an opaque slate with glitter
The Way Tutu His Heart - an opaque light pink
Who's Spinning Tonight - an opaque metallic purple

These colors take me back to my days of being a ballet dancer. Though we were never allowed to actually wear nail polish in class, our leg-warmers, leotards, tights, pointe shoes and wrap sweaters were always various shades of pinks, grays and beige. Just looking at this collection, I can already pick out my new nail color staples for the coming year.

According to me, this collection is spot on. The only minor issue is that the mini set is not available currently in Canada. (I've been told that the release date will be this month sometime.) You can purchase the full size individual bottles currently at Sephora.

Beauty For A Cause

As most people know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But for those that don't, I'm sure the increase in pink ribbons, pink shirts, and Weekend Walks may have, eventually, tipped you off.

Though there are so many ways to donate to many Breast Cancer Charities, it just got even easier for us product junkies. As it turns out, there are plenty of beauty products you can shop for that benefit related charities and here are a few of my personal faves:
