Red Lip Gloss...Back In Action!

I've been sitting here staring at my computer screen for the last 10 minutes without attempting to write anything. I've been away from the blogging world for a couple of months and trying to formulate why I've been away is very difficult for me. I guess I'll begin with...

After the wedding and our honeymoon, I lost focus on the direction I wanted Red Lip Gloss to go. At first, I thought by trying to obtain new followers and sponsors I would achieve a blog that was settled and globally accepted. Then, I realized that it wasn't the direction I wanted to be going in at all. By being on that path, I was becoming very unmotivated and the desire to write about the products and items I love disappeared. So, after giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to come back to blogging BECAUSE I love writing, I love the blogging community, I adore makeup and I miss the social interaction. I owe a lot my renewed spirit to all of you! Not only for taking the time to read my blog(s) BUT for your continued support, comments, emails and letters. Honestly, you all made me realize how much blogging means to me. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

So, here I am, back and ready to tell you all about my amazing new purchases and finds. But first, here's what I've been up to since Halloween.

1) I'm officially gluten and wheat free! This was a big change for me, as I adore breads and carbs, but this change has made my skin glow, my hair and nails grow like crazy and I feel so much better. Plus, losing those extra pounds has really made me feel like a whole new person!

2) I'm running again. I am trying to get back onto an exercise routine and I really started to miss running. So, instead of spending a ton of money going to a gym, I'm pounding the pavement instead!

3) I am back in love with coffee. Tea is still right up there for me but I can actually drink coffee again without getting heartburn (YAY for gluten free dieting!)

4) I am planning mine and Allan's newest adventure to South East Asia. We will be backpacking for three months starting at the end of November 2013. (For those that aren't aware, we blogged about our honeymoon in Bali and will be blogging our entire journey on our sister blog, The Antsy Travelers.) More on this trip to come later.

Anyway, I am back and ready to blog. Stay tuned for DIY Beauty Fridays, guests posts and many new product adventures.

The Best Halloween Makeup...EVER!

Saying that Halloween isn't my favorite time of the year is a major understatement.

I am not a fan of dressing up, handing out candy or even decorating with crazy skulls/witches. Yes, I am officially the Grinch of Halloween. On that note, though, I love seeing the crazy looks people come up with. Check out some of my favorite makeup looks for this Halloween...

DIY Beauty Fridays: Homemade Nail Polish Remover

Oh no! You've used the last of your nail polish remover and you're MUCH to lazy to run to the drugstore. How do you remove that pesky black or bright red polish?

Your problems are completely solved if you have either vinegar, rubbing alcohol or lemons in your house. All of these items are acidic enough to loosen your polish. Because it will take quite a bit longer to soften the polish, I highly recommend soaking your fingers (or toes) in warm, soapy water for about 5 minutes prior to using either of these items. Once soaked, pat dry your nails and soak vinegar, rubbing alcohol or lemon juice on a cotton pad and get removing!

Trust me, you'll wonder why you pay money for nail polish remover at all!

Staying Spicy With Luvmybox

Wow, what a post title...Even steaming you might say.

I was approached, a few weeks ago, by a new Vancouver company to check out their website and luv box. As most of you know, I haven't had much luck in the past receiving any monthly goodie boxes I've ordered, so I jumped at the chance to receive a box from the city I live in.

Plus, the best thing is, this box is boyfriend approved.

What's even better than this is that every monthly luv box sent is a new theme so you just never know how spicy or sweet you and your partner can be.

The theme of my luv box must have been "Sexy Bath Time" as I got some fabulous bath appropriate products: a waterproof rubber duckie massager, an aphrodisiac-infused bath foam, a bright green luffa, orange ginger body wash and two different scented massage oils. I can already say that Allan and I have put to use the massager and it is wonderful! Another great thing about this company was how they shipped their products. Before, with other monthly boxes I've received, the boxes have been damaged and the products wet or missing, even. However, Luvmybox shipped everything promptly and even packaged the little black box in its on cardboard box so as not to damage the special goodies inside. (This was a huge plus for me).
