I have been on a major nail polish kick lately which is very odd for me. I typically am the gal that will head to a nail salon whenever I want my nails done but lately I've been painting them myself. (No applause please....ha). So, when I went to Shoppers on my lunch break last week it's no wonder I picked up Quo by Orly's Celestial Star. Just check it out. At first I thought the color was going to be a shimmery purple but it's turned out to be more blue, which I'm still liking. The color gives my nails a nice pop of color and I adore anything shimmery.
Also, before I applied the polish, I brushed my nails with Sally Hansen's VitaSurge Growth Gel. I am really hoping that it helps my nails grow nice and long. I'll keep you posted on my progress with the product...
What nail colors are you lusting after? Anything you are beyond obsessed with?
XO Christina

The Palette Allan Doesn't Know About (But Probably Does Now)
So, I went shopping this weekend, as you know and the Sephora Self-Tanner wasn't the only thing I purchased.....
It's no joke that I love palettes. And, it's also no joke that Allan has put his foot down and said "no more palettes for a while." I've been doing a fantastic job not buying any (I really have) but I found one that I just couldn't pass up...
Thanks to Quo Beauty for making such a shimmery gorgeous palette. Seriously. I was trying all the colors in the store and couldn't believe how pigmented they all were. Still amazed that it was only $29
The Quo Baked Beauty Box comes with 6 eye shadow trios (18 shadows in total), 2 blushes, 1 highlighter and 1 highlighter duo. (The two blushes are on the right hand side while the highlighter duo is above the individual highlighter which are right beside the blushes.) These colors are super shimmery, ultra shiny and last a very long time on your skin. Oh, I also went to the gym after work last night (yes, I was wearing my makeup) and the colors were still pigmented once I finished, despite being as sweaty as I was.
To give you an idea of the shimmer, here are some swatches. (From left to right, single highlighter, light pink blush and dusty rose blush.)
On a non-cosmetic note, I also treated myself to some jewellery. I'll be honest, I never really buy myself jewellery because Allan likes to do this for me. (I'm a lucky girl). But, this specific shop was having a 50% sale and I just couldn't pass these two little items up...
I know right? How could I have said no??? I love rubies (even more so than diamonds) so anything that resembles a gorgeous ruby I just have to have it. These earrings have a vintage vibe, which I love, and were totally worth the money. By money, I mean they were only $20
Now, I have wanted a circle necklace for quite some time. I liked this one because it was 50% (obviously) and the chain is coiled, rather than plain. It's sits perfectly on my chest and is oh so sparkly. I love it! And, it only cost me $12.50. By the way, check out Vivah Jewellery because their sale is still on.
So, hope everyone had an awesome weekend and got some nice new things. XO

Singing Quo Beauty Praise
I dislike Shoppers Drug Mart.I know, I can't believe that I don't like a drug store either but I find Shoppers to be overpriced and slightly uppity for no apparent reason. I actually stopped shopping there for a while to make a bold statement (ha), but it was cut short because Shoppers was the only drug store near my house.
Needless to say, I slowly joined their ranks again and even began looking at their cosmetics once again. And, I was actually blown away. Not only had they added a few new product lines (Benefit, Smashbox, etc) BUT they had an exclusive brand: Quo Beauty.
Quo Beauty has, of course, been around for a while but I just recently started purchasing it. Here are some of my faves....
Quo Flipstick in Obsession. It's a beautiful pink rosy tone that's very sheer and shimmery. Best part of this lipstick is it's packaging. You twist the bottom of the tube and the lip color actually appears out of the top from behind a silver flap which is brilliant if you are constantly losing lipstick lids. (like me.)
Quo Mineral Matter Blush in Pink Petal. Again, a stunning sheer shimmery pink that is perfect on every skin tone. Plus, the packing is veryyyyy cool. The blush is housed in a polished case and, to gain access to it, you press the side of the container and the blush chutes out. It's very fun.
Quo Spring Goddess Palettes. Each palette comes with four eye shadows, one blush, one lipgloss and a blush brush and they're contained in a cute multicolor box. (With a tassel....ha) There are four different shade selections:Athena: Violet, teal gold and smoky grey
Aphrodite: Warm bronze and brown tones
Maia: Cool blues and purples
Thea: Grey tones with pink highlights (my favorite!!)
All in all, I'm impressed! Yes, it's a bit more expensive for a drug store brand (palettes: $29, flipstick: $19, blush: $15) but it's worth it. The products are nicely pigmented and very smooth in texture. I highly recommend them...
What do you think? Have you tried this line before?
