Because I had, and rocked, short hair for so long, I feel as if Im kindred spirits with any and all women who also choose to chop their locks. In particular, Carey Mulligan.

She is a fabulous actor, married to the lead singer of a fantastic band (Mumford & Sons), lives in England AND has the cutest style of anyone I've ever seen

Her acting is extrodinary and she has this easy-breezy style that's fun and mod all at the same time.  If you've never seen An Education or Never Let Me Go, I highly recommend watching them.  She is flawless in both films.

The Beautiful, and Intelligent, Miranda Kerr

Did you guys know that Miranda Kerr studied nutrition and health psychology before becoming a model?  I know, who knew right?  She is not only completely gorgeous in a-not-in-your-face kind of way but she also has the brains to back it up.  To me, this is someone that empowers beauty.  Plus, she actually SMILES when she's doing runway!!!  YAY

It's nice to see a model that encompasses beauty on so many different levels.

SAG Awards Beauty by Joe Fresh: Rose Byrne

There is something so classically beautiful about Rose Byrne but I can't seem to put my finger on exactly what it is.  It could be her stunningly coiffed hair or her picture perfect skin or maybe it's her ability to rock any look thrown at her.  Yes, she even worked the lace onesie she wore to the SAG Awards though most of the press hated it. 

However, the coolest part of her look that evening was that her makeup was entirely the inexpensive JOE Fresh Cosmetic line which you all know I'm a fan of.  Check out some of these photos...

 

According to her makeup artist, the products used were JOE Fresh Primer, JOE Fresh Tinted Moisturizer in Bisque,  JOE Fresh Duo Concealer in Light (that I blogged about here), JOE Fresh Eye Pencil in Charcoal, 2 Cream Eye Shadows in Cactus and Playa, JOE Fresh Lash PlumpVolumizing Mascara in Black, Cream Blush in Rose, Powder blush in Rosette, JOE Fresh Highlighter, JOE Fresh Lip Liner in Cinnamon, JOE Fresh Lip Gloss in Chai and, last but not least, JOE Fresh Translucent Loose Powder to set the look.

Putting aside the fact that JOE Fresh is such a reasonable product line, I honestly think she looks like a million bucks.  It's just a bonus that almost all of their goodies are priced less then $10.

Katy Perry: My Secret Style Inspiration

I don't typically like pop music.  I know, I know can you believe it?  I am usually the first one out trying to find new indie bands that no one's ever heard of before OR listening to music that, as Allan puts it, has too much feeling-talk.  So I guess it's kind of funny that I like both Katy Perry and her music.  Aside from her peppy songs, over-the-top confidence and beautiful husband, I have to say that she has some of the most creative videos I've seen in a long time.  So, here are some pics that display exactly why I like her...

Isn't she a doll?  I should also say that I've had a huge crush on Russell Brand since "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" but the boy does NOT take a good picture.....ever.  Oh well, he's still adorable.

PS - I'm also thinking I like her a heap because she has my favorite hair style....ever.  It's the banged/long bob......One day, I'll have this, one day!

The Worst Celebrity Trends EVER!

Do you flip through fashion magazines and wonder what these people were thinking when they got dressed in the morning?  Okay, I do, all the time!  Sometimes the fashions can literally be so gorgeous and perfect and other times...well, let's just say I'm glad I don't have tons of money to wear all these crazy things.

Spiked Dresses

Am I the only person that finds this trend hideous?  Kristen Cavallari is a gorgeous girl but then she goes and wears this atrocious outfit.  She should be playing football or something...

MC Hammer Pants 

You couldn't pay me to wear this trend, honestly.  First, if you're not a size 0 you can't pull this off and second, if you're name is not MC Hammer then you, again, shouldn't even attempt this trend.  I will say there is this girl in my office that wears this trend a lot and though she always looks super cute, it's still not a trend I would ever follow.

Shorts and Uggs

Did you know that Uggs are a winter boot?  Oh you did know that?  Yeah, so did I.  So, how come Britney Spears doesn't?  I really don't understand the joy of pairing heavy winter boots with summer skirts or shorts.  Honestly, don't your feet get hot?  Not only that but they are really unattractive boots.  I'm guessing that's why they're called Uggs...

Over-Sized Boyfriend Jeans

So I adore boyfriend jeans.  I actually bought my first pair the other day and the fit me absolutely perfect.  The key word being "fit".  Yes, even though boyfriend jeans are supposed to be slightly more relaxed and less form fitting, they are still supposed to fit you.  It looks like Katie may have pulled these right out of Tom's side of the closest.  Unfortunately, they are just much to big for her.
