Palette Love

I, literally, have a major compulsion with buying palettes.

I don't know exactly why this is BUT it probably has something to do with the multitude of colors and beauty products combined in a cute, portable (even purse-sized) compact. As I'm sure you can tell, I adore palettes hence why I have over 20 different types.

Here are a few of my faves occupying space on my vanity table:

Sephora Collection Color Palette - I am a huge fan of the Sephora Collection for numerous reasons but the main one is the price. This palette was only $30 and is well-worth that small investment because it contains 32 eye shadows, 16 lip colors, 3 blushes and 1 shimmer bronzer.

Lancome Absolu Voyage Makeup Palette - How handy is this cute little thing right? I got this at the duty free shop about 5 months ago and am still surprised that it was only $66. The palette contains a concealer, powder, blush, 6 eye shadows, a black kohl liner, mascara, a lip liner and 3 lipsticks.

Tarte "The Jewelry Box" Palette - I've mentioned this palette before on my New York recap post here but this palette deserves quite a bit of praise. I purchased this when I was on my trip for only $58 and, for those that know the Tarte line, this is a wonderful deal. It contains 32 shimmer and matte eye shadows, a bronzer, a highlighter, 8 lip glosses, 5 liners and a gold necklace (not shown here).

Sephora Loves Canada Minibag Palette - This palette is super tiny and actually fits right in the palm of my hand and best of all, it can be tucked into a small clutch bag when out for an evening. It contains 9 eye shadows, 4 lip glosses and 1 blush that are all either pink or nude tones. A huge bargain at only $18

Tarte's Ten Limited Edition Collector's Palette - I wanted this palette for eons and finally purchased it on Wednesday with a gift card. I will say this palette is a bit expensive ($57) but again, if you're familiar with the Tarte line, than you know the shadows are long lasting and created without parabens, sulfates, and synthetic dyes or fragrances. This palette is gorgeous as all 10 shadows are limited edition shades and the palette also has both a brown/black duo eyeliner and a mascara sample.

Dior Travel Studio Makeup Palette - I blogged about this already a while back as Allan picked this palette up for me as a surprise but I can't sing its praises enough. This palette is light-weight and contains everything you need to create your perfect look. It has a foundation, 3 eye shadow duos, 3 lip glosses, one mascara, 1 eye liner and 1 lip liner.

Last but not least, the Spehora Collection Color Flip - As you can see, I only paid $18 for this bad boy. It's a very well designed palette as each level contains something new and you flip back and forth between the levels you need. It contains 8 eye shadows, 8 lip glosses, 1 blush and 1 bronzer. I am so in love with the turquoise color from this palette and can not wait to wear it!

I should probably mention that my next giveaway will include a selection of different palettes, following this theme so stay tuned ladies! On another note, what do you think of these palettes? Have you used any of them before?

Ciao

I love...

Ballet. I love all dance immensely, but ballet holds a special place in my heart. I danced from the time I was three until very recently (soooo a very long time) and it will always always always be one of the most important things in my life.

My new Lancome Absolue Voyage Complete Make-Up Palette. For those that know me, I'm a palette hoarder and for those that don't, you do now! I love that everything (mascara, shadows, glosses and liners) all fit in one easily accessible compact. They're so handy!

Allan. He's witty, smart, kind and lovely. I'm a very lucky girl.

Smutty books. I don't know about you BUT fiction books are my vice. I like being able to have a fantasy life without ever getting off the couch. Some of my faves right now are: the Belle Du Jour series (Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl, etc), Bridget Jones' Diary, Russel Brand's Autobiography, Lauren Conrad's series, Nicole Richie's books...you get my drift

Candy. To narrow it down a bit more, I love nerds, licorice, and sour keys. If my teeth wouldn't rot (ha) I would eat candy all the time. However, according to Canada's Food Guide, that isn't healthy eating. Who knew....

Handbags and shoes. I'm currently having a mini-love affair with these ELLE Enchant Platform Peep-Toe Heels AND Lockheart Handbags. My all-time favorite Lockheart Handbag was the Tammy Tote but I just found out the last one sold from Bag, Borrow and Steal. Sigh....

Well, I think that sums up the things I love, for now anyway. Hope you got to know me a little bit more.....xo

Dear Santa......

I'm lying down on my couch, typing away, staring at my beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

Yes, I'm one of those individuals that puts their tree up many weekends before Christmas to enjoy the time I have with it. It sounds funny, I know, but Allan and I are leaving for New York in two days for a mini-vacation and then, we'll be in Toronto for Christmas, which means that I don't even get a full month with all my pretty decorations....well, snowmen to be exact.

I am obsessed with Snowmen. Some people like Santas, or Reindeer, or Penguins, but I like Snowmen. They have to be cute, have their own unique personality and above all, have a really great pecker. (I, of course, mean a great nose......man, get your mind out of the gutter...ha). All of my snowmen are hand-picked by either me, of those who know me well, and this snowman theme is what decorates my tree.

As I'm sitting her, typing away, looking at the cute snowman AND drinking hot chocolate, I'm also thinking about pressies. I love giving gifts, absolutely, but also really really really enjoy receiving them. So, Santa, here's the list this year.....

1. NARS Body Glow. I have been eyeing this for months and months but never seem to purchase for myself. (I think the $80 price tag might have something to do with it...) Either way, this product is a multi-use body bronzer. Not only can it applied directly out of the bottle BUT add a cap full to your bath tub and emerge with bronzed, shimmery skin. I love it...

2. Lancome's Renergie Microlift R.A.R.E spf 15 Cream. This day cream is one of the most phenomenal skin products I have ever used. Now, I am definitely far from the "loss of firmness" that this cream prevents but I also think it's never too early to begin a regime preventing this downfalls. Plus, when the cream goes on this smooth and silky, it's hard to say no. (Again, me and my expensive taste. This little jar is priced at $110.)

3. The Sephora Collection Endless Color Blockbuster. This is just one of those items that I want every single December. It's jam packed with over 187 products and they're all in one handy-dandy carrying case. This year, they've added 13 new products and created a less breakable case making this item definitely worth it's $60 price tag.
4. Calvin Klein Beauty Body Lotion. Since I wrote about the fragrance last week, I won't bore you with all the details again but this is MY fragrance. It's taken me 28 years but I have actually found my number one fragrance. (Aside from Coco Mademoiselle that is...) So, I would love the body lotion to go along with my fragrance. Priced at $60 which isn't too bad...

5. MAC Happily Ever After Lip Kit. I don't typically like lip kits because the quality of the gloss is never that great, but after trying this bad boy out, I was pleasantly surprised. The colors are great, light and go with everything plus the tartan case is way too cute. The palette includes Endless Fun (sheer frosty pink), Cheers All Around (bright candy pink), and To Joy (medium pink). Priced at only $25, this might be a gift to myself this year...ha.

Everyone has a wish list at Christmas time. Most of these items will not be under the tree (which is fine by me) but it's still nice to dream. Tell me, ladies, what's on your list to Santa this year?
