The Perfect Fall Outfits: Polyvore

The temperature is starting to drop and the air is feeling slightly more crisp.  To me, and every other woman out there, this means fall is just around the corner.

Fall happens to be my favorite season and I think I can say that it's most women's favorite as well.  I say this because it's time for leggings, scarves, boots and sweaters, oh my.  There is nothing a gal loves more than to find the perfect pair of knee-high boots or that fabulous pair of leggings that make your bum look oh so great (Lululemon, anyone?).  Sigh, I love fall.

I was perusing Polyvore today and stumbled on so many gorgeous outfits that I couldn't wait to show them to you.  Are these not perfect for fall?

Lip Haul: Rimmel's Lasting Finish Color Rush Balms

At the prompting of a friend, I recently purchased the Rimmel Chubby Sticks.  (Thanks Lori!)

Okay, I call them chubby sticks because they are as chubby as Clinique's version and their name is WAY too long to remember.  However, they are in fact, called Lasting Finish Color Rush Long Lasting Intense Color Balm. ...Wow, quite the mouthful.

Despite the long name, they are actually amazeballs.  From left to right, I purchased Viva Violet, On Fire, Keep Mauving and Rumour Has It.

Keep Mauving is such a gorgeous nude tone.  It's actually my newest favorite lip balm!  The color is great when paired with a smoky eye OR any bright eye color.  Love it.

Viva Violet is a vibrant violet tone that works really well with my magenta hair, thank goodness, as the red tones do not look as good!  This one is great for a punch of color and keeps your lips moisturized!

On Fire is an orange red that, unfortunately, does not look great on me.  It's definitely not a tone that works with my skin tone as it's too warm.

Rumour Has It is gorgeous.  It's a bright mulberry tone that packs a huge pop of color.  I will definitely be getting this one again.

I purchased these at $8 a piece and for a lip balm, I am still very impressed.  The color packs a lasting punch and your lips stay nice and moisturized.  Not too bad for a drugstore find!  Anyone else tried these colors?  Thoughts?

    

FOTD: Bold Blue Eyeliner

I am so in love with Sephora's Colorful Shadow & Liner pencils.   Not only are the colors fantastic, but the price is perfect ($18 CAD) and they last all day with one application.

The color I am wearing here is called My Boyfriend's Jeans and it's an electric blue that I feel makes my eyes POP.

Magenta Hair: My New Trend

So, this past week we were in Calgary visiting my sister and her hubby.  While there, in addition to her meeting Baby Ben, she colored my hair using a balayage technique and I am now the proud wearer of magenta/purple hair!!

I am so loving my new hair color and feel so inspired.  I've always wanted a crazy fun color but being that I work in a fairly conservative industry, I thought it best to be bold while on mat leave.  I should mention that my sis is a super talented stylist and amazing colorist and when given the opportunity to have her style my hair, I always jump at the chance.

The Bold Look of Floral

A long time ago, back when I was in high school, I thought floral prints were passe.  Truly, my mom would try to make me wear them and I would run out of the house screaming because, according to me, floral prints were not cool.

However, now that I'm in my 30's, I realize how amazing floral prints really are.  And not only floral prints but anything containing a flower is also cool.  I am loving the look of floral scarves, heels and even floral purses.

Guess my mom was right, all those years ago.

A final suggestion for creatively displaying your purses is sourcing old store fixtures. You can often find used store fixtures at closeout sales, flea markets, or online. These fixtures will organize and display your purses like a pro. Your purse assortment will look as good as a boutique, and everything will be well organized and easy to access. You can often haggle to get the best price for these used displays, and they are often collapsible and easy to store when not in use. Your wardrobe will look like a chic boutique window, and you’ll be so proud to show off your collection.

BH Cosmetics: Huge Palette Haul

I've heard of BH Cosmetics for a long time though never actually tried the line before.  I know, strange.  A friend and I decided to place an order and FINALLY give the line a try.

I, of course, ended up with 4 new palettes and some lipstick because that's how I role.

I purchased the Special Occasion Palette, the Glamorous Blush Palette, the Forever Smokey Palette, the Forever Nude Palette and Creme Luxe Lipsticks in Coral Escape, Berry Bite and Te Amo.

The Special Occasion Palette contains 39 colors in divided between blush (9 colors) and eyeshadows (30 colors).  All are absolutely lovely.

The Glamorous Blush Palette is the reason I placed the order though.  It contains 10 fabulous colors that can all be blended together to make your perfect shades.  Love it.

The Forever Smokey and Forever Nude palettes were on "Buy 1 Get 1 Free", hence why I got both.  Here's the Forever Smokey Palette which contains 2 blushes, 2 lip glosse,s 1 highlighter and 6 eyeshadows.

The Forever Nude contains the same amount as the Forever Smokey Palette, just in more muted shades.

Last but not least, check out the lipstick colors,  They are beautiful and rich.  I've been rocking the Coral Escape almost everyday since receiving them!  From left to right the colors are Coral Escape, Berry Bite and Te Amo.
